Thomas (Tom) A. Sa joined Heritage Commerce Corp and Heritage Bank of Commerce in 2024 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He also serves as Interim Chief Financial Officer of Heritage Commerce Corp and Heritage Bank of Commerce as of November 2024. With over 30 years of experience in California-based community and regional banks, Mr. Sa most recently served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at California BanCorp and California Bank of Commerce becoming the President of both the Bank and its parent company in 2023. Prior to his tenure at California Bank, he had a distinguished career at Bridge Capital Holdings and its subsidiary, Bridge Bank, N.A., holding various executive roles from the company’s inception in 2001 through and post its merger with Western Alliance Bank in 2015. These roles included Chief Financial Officer, Chief Risk Officer, and Chief Strategy Officer, demonstrating a broad range of leadership in financial management and strategic oversight throughout his career. In addition, he served on the Boards of Bridge Capital Holdings and Bridge Bank from 2010-2015.
He began his career as a CPA with Deloitte & Touche, specializing in financial institutions and technology companies in Silicon Valley. Mr. Sa holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting from Humboldt State University and is a licensed CPA in California.
